CBT Social Anxiety Group: Navigating the Social Waters with Confidence

CBT/DBT Associates is pleased to announce a new offering of our 8-week cognitive behavioral social anxiety group that incorporates mindfulness and interpersonal effectiveness skills from DBT.

Over the course of 8 weeks, group members will learn how to be in the moment when interacting with others, practice assertiveness and conversational skills, and get feedback from supportive peers. Additionally, participants will:

• Enhance confidence in social settings
• Initiate conversations
• Express positive and negative emotions to others


This group is appropriate for adults 18+.


Schedule and Registration

Sessions of the CBT for Social Anxiety group run weekly on Wednesday 6-7:30PM..

About the Group Leader

Kristen Roman earned her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Rutgers University Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology. Prior to attending Rutgers, Dr. Roman graduated from Emory University with a B.A. in Psychology. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at CBT/DBT Associates. Dr. Roman completed her pre-doctoral clinical internship at UCLA Counseling and Psychological Services, where she delivered individual cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to a diverse population of undergraduate and graduate students and co-led CBT groups for eating disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, substance use, and ADHD. During her internship, she also gave presentations on suicide prevention and sexual assault which furthered her skills in crisis intervention.
