Dominique Porcaro | Director of Marketing & Community Outreach
Dominique completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at Barnard College of Columbia University as an early graduate of the Class of 2020. She was inducted into the prestigious academic honor society, Phi Beta Kappa, as a part of the top two percent of her class. At Barnard, Dominique was a member of the Athena Scholars Program, which is rigorous academic and extracurricular program designed to develop leadership skills in young women. During her senior year as an Athena Scholar, she was required to complete a social action project, which is intended to make a positive impact on a social issue. Because of her interest in psychology and her passion for helping others, Dominique created Survivor Sisters, which is a podcast that shares the stories of sexual assault survivors to educate, empower, and inspire other survivors and their peers to take action against sexual assault. This project allowed her to hone her marketing and social media skills in addition to making a positive impact on the lives of sexual assault survivors. Dominique built a large following, with listeners in over thirty states and ten countries, making Survivor Sisters a huge success. During her college career, Dominique also interned for Congressman Adriano Espaillat, serving District 13 of New York City. During her work with Congressman Espaillat, Dominique assisted many constituents with their concerns daily, offering help with immigrant services and other issues with housing, transportation, disabilities, etc... She also engaged with the community by facilitating, publicizing, and staffing events on behalf of the Congressman.
