Mark Chen is a clinical extern at CBT/DBT Associates. Mark is currently a fourth-year Ph.D. student in clinical psychology at Columbia University and earned his M.S. in spring 2020. He has experience working in community outpatient, psychiatric inpatient, and laboratory-based settings with adults presenting a wide variety of concerns (e.g., mood and anxiety disorders, personality disorders, trauma and stressor-related disorders, schizoaffective disorders). Over the past few years, he has obtained training in evidence-based interventions, including CBT, DBT, interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT), and emotion regulation therapy (ERT). He has worked at the Dean Hope Center at Teachers College, Columbia University, and New York-Presbyterian Hospital/ Weill Cornell Medicine- Westchester Behavioral Health Center, where he has provided individual psychotherapy, led groups, and conducted neuropsychological assessments. His research interests include transdiagnostic cognitive and emotional processes underlying stress-related disorders (e.g., depression, anxiety, and PTSD), with a focus on flexibility in emotion regulation.
