Workplace Stress workplace-stress

Workplace stress costs corporations 200 billion a year in decreased productivity and healthcare. However, the toll of stress upon executives and other employees is immeasurable. In addition to burnout, it may contribute to the use of ineffective coping strategies such as excessive alcohol consumption, overeating, and drug use.

Stress Management

Meditation-Based Stress Reduction

Mindfulness has proven effective in reducing stress and these costs. By learning to anchor in the present and let go of the past and future, stress decreases. The common research supported stress reduction intervention is Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, a 4 or 8 week meditation program. CBT/DBT Associates is pleased to offer an ongoing 4-week MBSR program.

These programs, for individuals or groups, are based on cutting-edge evidence-based approaches and teach a variety of quick and easy ways to practice mindfulness that take less time than a meditation. They also teach skills for managing conflicts with coworkers, a primary source of workplace stress, as well as skills for managing emotions, and for tolerating distress.

At either our midtown office or at your firm, we offer convenient and discreet access to stress solutions. To register or to speak with our clinical intake coordinator, complete this form or call us at (212) 546-9200.
