Alison Bellevue, Psy.D. | Director of Parenting Services and the Middle School Program

Alison Bellevue earned her Psy.D. in School-Clinical Child Psychology from Yeshiva University, Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology. Prior to entering her doctoral program, Dr. Bellevue earned an M.S.Ed. from Long Island University with a specialization in adolescent special education. She graduated cum laude from Barnard College, earning a B.A. in psychology and human rights. Dr. Bellevue completed an APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship at NYU Langone Medical Center-Rusk Rehabilitation, Pediatric Track. During her internship training she developed an expertise in neuropsychological assessment and provided psychotherapy to children and adolescents with co-morbid medical diagnoses, as well as to their families. Dr. Bellevue completed her postdoctoral fellowship at CBT Westport, where she gained extensive experience providing individual Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to youth and adults presenting with a range of diagnoses, and led a group for parents of children with anxiety disorders.

Dr. Bellevue is trained and experienced in providing DBT to both adolescents and adults. She is a member of the DBT consultation team at CBT/DBT Associates and co-leads the DBT Multifamily Skills Group for Middle School Students. In addition, Dr. Bellevue has been extensively trained in CBT, and is experienced in providing such treatment to children, adolescents, and adults with a range of anxiety and mood disorders. She specializes in treating anxiety disorders across the lifespan, including Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), specific phobias, separation anxiety, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, trichotillomania, and selective mutism. She provides parent training and parenting support to parents of children with disruptive behavior disorders. Dr. Bellevue has worked in multiple settings including medical centers, schools, private institutes, and a foster care agency. Prior to her psychology career, Dr. Bellevue was a middle school special education teacher in Brooklyn, NY, which places her in a unique position to collaborate with schools and provide consultation services.

Dr. Bellevue is an active member of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT). She has presented multiple posters at ABCT national conferences.
