Parenting in a Pandemic Series

This 5-week support and skills group, starting May 5th, will be led by Dr. Alison Bellevue, Director of Child, Adolescent, and Family Services at CBT/DBT Associates.

Being a parent is a multifaceted job and is challenging even when we are not in the middle of a pandemic. This group will provide parents with the opportunity to connect with each other, while learning skills to manage common challenges related to our new social distancing reality. The group will be tailored to address the unique concerns of group members and will also address common difficulties specific to this time, such as:

  • Managing remote learning while working from home
  • Talking to your children about COVID-19
  • Managing your emotional experience and your child's
  • Knowing what is a typical reaction and when to be concerned
  • Coping with missed milestones & more!

New Adult DBT Intensive Workshop Series

Beginning Monday, May 4th, our accelerated, twice-weekly Adult DBT Intensive Workshop  is a part of our expanded teletherapy offerings and will cover the five DBT skill training modulesmindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and walking the middle path over the course of 8.5 weeks compared to our standard 20-week timeline for DBT. This workshop is for adults of ALL ages. Participation in individual therapy is NOT required.

For Adults: Mondays and Wednesdays, 6:00-7:30 PM, 17 sessions, 90 minutes per session, led by Michelle Litwer, Psy.D.

NEW Adult DBT Group

We are happy to announce that there is a NEW Adult DBT Group, meeting on Thursdays, 11:00 AM -12:30 PM, led by Haley Rottenberg, Psy.D.

Our DBT Skills Training groups are conducted on an ongoing basis and led by our staff psychologists who have completed intensive training in DBT. Meeting once a week, participants learn the five essential skills training modules: mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and walking the middle path.

This workshop is tailored for anyone going into college, currently in college, or just graduated (ages 17-22) in New York for the summer. Participation in individual therapy is NOT required.
