CBT Workshops

This Fall we’re pleased to offer a series of non-therapy, educational CBT workshops. These groups are designed to teach you about a variety of clinical topics and to introduce you to some basic CBT skills interventions. Our small group format provides ample time for in-depth discussion of workshop material. Whenever possible, workshop content is tailored so that it is response to participants’ specific learning objectives.

Meditation-Free Stress Management™

Available upon Request | Led by Practice Founder and Director Lisa Napolitano, Ph.D.
These workshops teach working professionals skills for managing conflicts with coworkers, distress tolerance, and other methods of managing emotions which take less time than a meditation. Our Meditation-Free Stress Management™ programs are offered at our office or your firm, and are catered for individuals or groups.

Wednesday, 6PM-7PM
This group will help clients find focus and stay on top of work and school assignments.
depression 101

Depression 101

Beginning November 12 | Led by Jacob Firestone, Psy.D
Monday, 4:30PM-5:30PM
This workshop will help participants understand what depression is, and help teach them some behavioral techniques to help alleviate symptoms. This workshop will also discuss longer-term therapy options, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

Trauma 101

Beginning November 7 | Led by Jacob Firestone, Psy.D.
Wednesday, 6PM-7PM
Duration: 8, 1-hour weekly sessions.

Trauma 101 helps clients understand what trauma and common reactions to trauma are. Participants will begin to implement behavioral changes to improve their symptoms, and learn about options for future treatment. Topics covered include:

  • Identifying reactions to trauma
  • Identifying triggers
  • Identifying avoidance and safety behaviors

OCD 101

Beginning November 28 | Led by Kristen Roman, Psy.D.
Wednesday, 6-7PM
This workshop will teach participants what OCD is, how symptoms can differently present themselves from client to client, and introduce some treatment options.

Smoking Cessation

Beginning November 9 | Led by Jacob Firestone, Psy.D.
Friday, 12PM-1PM
Duration: 4 Weeks

This group will help participants prepare to quit smoking, identify behavioral and emotional triggers for smoking, and identify thoughts that get in the way of quitting. Participants will:

  • Develop a change plan
  • Track their progress
  • Learn the benefits of smoking cessation
ICBT 101

Couples Therapy: An Introduction

Beginning October 22nd | Led by Tory Tomassetti, Ph.D.
Monday, 5:30PM-7PM
Duration: 1, 90-minute session
This 1-session workshop will teach couples what Integrative Behavioral Couples Therapy (IBCT) and Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT) are, and help them decide if longer treatment is right for them.



brief Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (bMBSR) Group

Beginning November 29th | Led by Jacob Firestone, Psy.D.
Thursday, 11:30AM-1:30PM
Duration: 4, 90-minute sessions.
Participants will learn to decrease vulnerability to stress and develop a non-reactive mindset in the world. They will learn mindfulness skills to pay attention to inner and outer experiences to enhance physical and psychological health.
