DBT Skills Groups
DBT Group Therapy
DBT Skills Training groups are conducted on an ongoing basis and led by our staff psychologists who have completed intensive training in DBT. Meeting once a week, participants learn the five essential skills training modules: mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and walking the middle path.
DBT Skills Training Groups are a component of our Comprehensive DBT Program. We also offer the option of joining a DBT group therapy session to new clients who are receiving appropriate individual treatment outside of the practice. Typically, our DBT clients see a CBT/DBT Associates therapist for once-weekly individual therapy and as a required component, also participate in a DBT Skills Training Group. However, we have many group-only clients who benefit from learning and practicing DBT skills in our training groups.
